Loom Knit a Gnome Ornament on a Small Loom

I’ve been wanting to knit one of these forever. The holdup was designing something that was super simple but super cute. I have to say that I’m happy with these little guys because in under an hour and some scrap yarn you too to have your own Gnome ornament

You just knit three parts, make a beard and then assemble everything into an ornament that will go well on your desk, dinner table, or on your tree.

Supply List and Information

SKILL LEVEL: Advanced Beginner

SIZE: With the hat stretch out, 10 x 5 inches / 25.4 x 12.7 cm

STITCHES: Knit (Used the Uwrap), Decreases (Shown on Video)

LOOM: Any Small 24-peg loom
HOOK: Any loom hook.
YARN: Approximately 40 yards of WW Yarn for the hat and body/face and about 3-4 yards for the beard

TOOLS: Small soft wire pet brush , Large-eye Blunt Needle. Stitch markers , Scissors

STUFFING: Any kind – I used Poly-fil

This is adorable! Can you take regular knitting patterns and follow them for the loom and the same following a loom pattern to a needle knit?

Hi Jeanne – you can to a certain extent – this one is simple enough that it can be translated to needle knitting. Some patterns need to be twicked to be translated.
