How to Loom Knit the Chinese Waves Hat on a Knitting Loom

loom knit Chinese wave hat

The Chinese Waves hat is a pattern requested by my Patreon Patron Kassandra T. I thank her for the support and the inspiration. Sorry that t took me a bit longer then it should have but I think I came through. The stitch is beautiful and a lot easier than it looks. I’m especially happy that I was able to use a large gauge loom which is very important to me and that I could use the eWrap version of the knit stitch.

In this step by step video tutorial I will show you how to knit, purl and do the Slip 1 with yarn in front stitches. By the way, there is a separate video that shows how to knit the stitch flat.

When I have 2 rows on every other peg and I am starting the next 6 rows, do I pick up both strands to do the purl stitch or just the bottom strand?

Norma, I’m a bit confused by your question, sorry. I would recommend watching the video completely before starting the project.

Hi. Love your tutorials. I learned how to loom knit by watching you.
I am making this pattern now and I am almost done when I noticed a dropped stitch. As a beginner I have no idea how to fix it. Help pls ?

    • Denise Canela January 19, 2019 at 6:41 pm

Hi Marilou – thread a needle with the yarn or use a crochet hook to go back and use loops to connect the dropped stitch to a “good” stitch.
