Tiny Teddy Bear on a Round Knitting Loom
A teddy bear has been missing from my list of projects for way too long. Also, I love mini toys so this one plays into my favorite things more than once.
The pattern knits up pretty quickly but I will warn you that this is not a beginner friendly pattern. However, I will take you step by step on the video tutorial below. If you’re willing to watch the video completely and then try it to knit the teddy bear, you might end up with a really cute mini toy. The downloadable written PDF will be available through the usual outlets and although it isn’t vital, note that your purchase does help me and this website.
Teddy Bear Supplies and Information
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate
Stitches: Knit (Use the U-wrap version of the Knit Stitch)
Techniques: Drawstring Cast-on, Modified Flat Drawstring cast-off
Loom: Small Loom 24-pegs about 5 inches in diameter.
Yarn: Approximately 60 yards of Red Heart worsted weight yarn.
Tools and Notions: Loom Hook, Yarn Needle, Embroidery Floss and Embroidery Needle, Poly-fil
Make–up: Pink Blush and Applicator
Finished Project Size: Approximately 4 ½ inches tall

Very cute little teddy. I made two. First one was not good. I’m happier with the second one. Because I knit looser I made the ears for 2nd one with only 4 rows. Very fun project. Thank you.

I am trying to make my first one. and my legs are turning out a bit smaller than yours. It looks like the ones in the picture above have longer limbs? I am using #4 yarn and doing the U-wrap.
Hi Trish, make sure you stretch the fabric out really well. They looked like that to me when I first made the. If you still want to make them a bit longer I would add more then maybe 2 additional rows.

Love your videos and patterns. I use Cindwood looms 3/8 – 36 pegs. I am hoping that this pattern can be done on this loom.
I want to say that the pattern should work well because I believe this loom is also 5 inches in diameter – the teddy may just be a bit smaller. If you would be so kind and send me a pic if you test the pattern – I would BIG time appreciate ite.
