Rainbow Loom Dragon Scale Bracelet without the Rainbow Loom

The Rainbow Loom Dragon Scale Bracelet is beautiful and best of all easy to make on any loom you already own. All you need is 4 – 10 pegs depending on how wide you want the bracelet. Once you get the hang of it you can turn that skill into lots of awesome projects like a headband or a small purse. The possibilities are enormous.

This is one of my favorite Rainbow Loom bracelets so I’ve written the pattern and made a video. I want to make sure my fellow visual learners are not left behind.

Like the cherry on top, I have to say this again it’s easy to do. Seems a bit confusing at first then you get on a roll and can’t stop.

The Rainbow Loom Dragon Scale Bracelet PATTERN

Supplies:

Loom: Any loom with at least 6 pegs

Rubber Bands: 75 Bands. I used the Rainbow Loom mixed with the usally cheaper option of the Proclaim Braid Bands

Clips: 2 C-clips or You can use 2 Jump Rings or Cut 2 Rubber Bands and use them to tie the ends.

Hook: I used the Knifty Knitter Loom Hook

Note: It’s a good idea to take your bands and put them in little batches ( groups ) of 5 bands each by color. It will make following the pattern a lot easier.

Base of Bracelet

5 Rubber bands in the same color : Rubber Caps

Take your first band and bend it into an 8 shape

Place it on pegs 1 and 2

Take your next band and bend it into an 8 shape

Place it on pegs 3 and 4

Take your next band and bend it into an 8 shape

Place it on pegs 5 and 6

Take your next band and bend it into an 8 shape

Place it on pegs 2 and 3 over your first set of bands

Take your next band and bend it into an 8 shape

Place it on pegs 4 and 5 over your first set of bands

Now take your button loops from pegs 2,3,4,5 and knit them over. You are done with your base and will no longer need to bend your bands in a figure 8.

Row 1 – Til you reach your desired length

* Place a rubber band on pegs 1 and 2

Place another rubber band on pegs 3 and 4

Place another rubber band on pegs 5 and 6

Knit over all pegs

Place a rubber band on pegs 2 and 3

Place another rubber band on pegs 4 and 5

Knit over pegs 2,3,4 and 5 *

Repeat **

Finish the Bracelet

Take the rubber band from peg 1 – place it on peg 2 and knit over

Take the rubber band from peg 6 – place it on peg 5 and knit over
