Birds Nest Free Loom Knit Pattern and Video

Loom Knit Birds Nest WildlifeAnimal Rescue

One of my Patreon patrons asked if I would design a pattern for the animal rescue efforts in Australia. I had already been thinking about a birds nest and so here is the little nest. I hope many of you will consider putting any information you have in the comment section that will help other people participate.

I checked with Wires.org to make sure my measurements would meet their requirements before I started. So as long as you use the pattern exactly as written you should be fine.

    Denise,
Can I find written directions for knit bottle covers. I especially would like the open
    mesh pattern.

Hi Denise! I just knit this cute little nest! I enjoyed making it . I do ha e a question tho- could it be made in a larger round loom ? I think it would be cool as a large type basket to set on a table or something . Anyway so if you could let me know if it could be knit on a larger loom that would be so great ! Love your patterns they are very informative and helpful . Again thank you

Hi Patricia – you can but you will need to add more rows.

Thank you so much for this pattern which will help so much wildlife. It looks a lot easier for a beginner loomer such as myself, than the pattern on the Australian rescue site which calls for a seed stitch. Please, if you can, provide a video with a pattern for other items that can help animals, such as pouches which Australia calls for, or anything else that could help. Thank you so much.

Can I use a 30 peg round loom instead of 31?

    • Denise Canela February 21, 2020 at 12:09 am

Yes – that would not be a problem
