Here is a step by step tutorial on how to felt acrylic yarn. The process is beginner easy and the video is under 4 minutes long.

I used this technique on one of my Mini Teddy Bears. I like it a lot better for so many reasons; the teddy feels very soft, the process is super easy and it hides just about any and all imperfections.

Could this be done with Alpaca yarn too? I just love this idea!

I would think so – but I have not tested this type of felting with any other fiber.

How well does the fuzzy fiber look hold up to washing? Would it need to be brushed up again? Thank you for the technique!

Hello, Denise: As always, you never disappoint us. You have done it again. I have been wanting to try this procedure for quite some time now … but several people have told me that some of the pet brushes are not as good and sturdy as others. Since I have no pets, I have no idea what style or price range (there are many on eBay and Amazon … just confuses me more) … I need to be looking at. Are you allowed to tell us the kind you are using? The only thing I know for sure is to get one without the little rubber tips.
I agree with the lady above, can’t wait to try this.

My son got a baby husky the brush was supposed to be for her – I will ask him. In the meantime I did put a similar one in my Amazon store – but someone said they saw one in their local dollar store. I would start there and Walmart.
