Let’s Fix Loving with Looms

Fix Loving with Looms

OK so we have had no participation in the Loving with Looms Award 2014.

I understand that there is something keeping you from nominating yourself or someone you know that uses their looms to help others.

I’m hoping you guys would be willing to help me fix the issues so that I can reward someone VERY special for doing good.

I am a “tradional” knitter who received an Infinity loom as a birthday present. I am intrigued and excited to get started on my new loom. Do you have a blog on helpful hints, suggestions and patterns for the Infinity looms??? Thank you!

This is one of several places I donate to through my local food pantry:

Ditto, Greata Lewis…. I donate to homeless shelters in my area, mostly.

I work at the alternative school in Victoria, Tx. For the past four years my students
have made hats for the residents at the nursing home we visit twice a month.
Last year, we also adopted the Mid Coast Family Shelter and made hats for the youth
    there.
This year we are also making hats for homeless veterans to be given out through our local
    veteran’s clinic.
Not tooting my own horn, just recognizing the work of our students.

OMG Lora OMG – this is sooooooo awesome – you should have every participate nominated. This is BEAUTIFUL at so many levels. PLEASE let me know how I can make easier. Remember there are 3 winners in this Raffle. They can win looms and yarn. If you’re interested my email is denise@loomahat.com. I would love to write a post about these projects – I want to toot your horn.
      Hugs to all,
      denise

I would have nominated myself but I dontate my hats to several places. the requirement that you can verify electronically is what stopped me

    • Denise Canela October 29, 2014 at 7:59 am

Hi Deb, you are the perfect nominee. I wish I could nominate you myself. All you need to do is Name just one of the places that has a website – I just need to know the place is real. Almost ALL charities, hospitals and churches etc have a website. That’s all that is needed – just website. I don’t need to confirm with them that they got your donation.
Hope that makes it easier – sorry for the confusion,
      denise

Oh that is so sad….Well then I shall just nominate myself for looming hats for The Santa Shoebox…..xxxx

I’ve just started looming and I’m having a hard time getting the hang of it. Is there something simple I can make? I really wanted to make dish cloths.

You best bet is to start by learning the two most important stitches for beginners – the knit and purl: Click HERE than to make an 8×8 square you can use for a dishcloth: Click HERE
