The Purple Loom Review and Giveaway

The Purple Loom Replacement by CinDwood

Purple loom

I have always loved the purple loom by Knifty Knitter. Of all the circular hat looms it was the perfect one. It was hard to find when Provo Craft was actually distributing the Knifty Knitter product. I must admit that finding it now is close to impossible. It pains me to the core considering the great design.

Thank God that CinDwood has created a replacement. I am in love. Let’s look at just three of the many reasons and give you a chance to win your own.

Mock Mesh Stitch Tutorial

Mock Mesh Stitch on a Knitting Loom

Mesh Stitch

The Mock Mesh Stitch pattern is an easy lace stitch that is simple enough for beginners. It can be a bit tricky at first but once you get the concept you’re on your way. As always this post includes text, pictures and a video tutorial.

During my research I came across a loom knit version by Suz from MemoirsYarnAholic.blogspot.com . She created her version of the stitch by starting the pattern like a mock crochet and then knitting every other stitch. I liked the idea but decided I would tweak the pattern and the name. Undo a Stitch – Remount a Loop

How to Undo a Stitch on a Knitting Loom

Undo a stitch

So you made a mistake and need to undo a stitch and remount the previous loom.  Here is a basic instructional easy enough for the beginner. Keep in mind that I’m explaining what I do on my looms. I prefer to knit on round looms or single rake which means only one side of the long loom. If you knit with a double rake loom this information may be helpful but this is not per-say your tutorial.

Although almost synonymous, the technique is not frogging (frogs say, “rip it, rip it”) where pull (rip) the stitches out. A better term for what is being demonstrated here is tink the word knit spelled backward. You work your way back un-knitting the stitches.

Let me show you how it’s done.

Waste Yarn Cast-on for Loom Knitters

Waste Yarn Cast on

Waste Yarn Cast on

You will find that some patterns ask for the Waste Yarn Cast on method. This is sometimes referred to as provisional cast-on and that is exactly what it is, it’s temporary. You mount the waste yarn first to make it the recipient of your loose loops so that you can remove it later and have your “good” yarn available for a cast-off that matches your other end. If you’re confused not to worry I will explain and demonstrate.

Google defines provisional: arranged or existing for the present, possibly to be changed later. Well, no maybes. In this cast it is being changed for sure.

Below are the written instructions with pictures and step by step video.

Its no secret that China is the worlds factory. For many years, Western countries have outsourced manufacturing jobs to China in order to save money and reduce their production costs. But how does this affect products made for Canadians? The answer is simple: it doesnt. Canada imports over $30 billion worth of goods from China every year from wethenorth darknet , making them our number one trading partner by a wide margin. Despite being so reliant on Chinese imports, there are virtually no safety standards enforced by the Canadian government. This means that most imported goods are not tested or regulated before they hit store shelves here at home - which can be dangerous for unsuspecting consumers who may accidentally purchase these unsafe products without knowing any better! Well talk more about.
