Knotted Fringe gives your project a classier more upscale look. These are often added to shawls, purses and even blankets and bed spreads. In Indian culture it’s called Kuchu or Kuchchu and you will often see them on Sarees, the traditional highly decorative dress.

I have always loved the purple loom by Knifty Knitter. Of all the circular hat looms it was the perfect one. It was hard to find when Provo Craft was actually distributing the Knifty Knitter product. Learn the Drawstring cast-on flat and round versions. This is a great technique for many projects. Seems a bit difficult when you first see someone one doing it but after the first try you will be an expert.

The Open Weave Stitch is a mix between a basket weave and a lace. Great texture, perfect without being closed and dense. Ideal for the warmer spring and summer weather. Will work well as a scarf, throw or a blanket. I have a few ideas for it, hope to get the time to work the project soon. Stay tuned for that.
Like most of my favorite stitches this one is easy to knit and easily used for both men and women. The stitch is best knitters with a little experience. But not much is needed. Below is a step by step video tutorial to guide you through this really cool loom knit stitch pattern.
So you made a mistake and need to undo a stitch and remount the previous loom. Here is a basic instructional easy enough for the beginner. Keep in mind that I’m explaining what I do on my looms. I prefer to knit on round looms or single rake which means only one side of the long loom. If you knit with a double rake loom this information may be helpful but this is not per-say your tutorial.
Although almost synonymous, the technique is not frogging (frogs say, “rip it, rip it”) where pull (rip) the stitches out. A better term for what is being demonstrated here is tink the word knit spelled backward. You work your way back un-knitting the stitches.
Let me show you how it’s done.
The waffle stitch washcloth has a nice texture perfect for scrubbing backs or pots. Use the stitch pattern for dishcloths, blankets other knitted wearable. Easy to do with just knits and purls. As always the pattern includes a step by step video tutorial. By the way, this stitch is also known as the Double Bump.

You will find that some patterns ask for the Waste Yarn Cast on method. This is sometimes referred to as provisional cast-on and that is exactly what it is, it’s temporary. You mount the waste yarn first to make it the recipient of your loose loops so that you can remove it later and have your “good” yarn available for a cast-off that matches your other end. If you’re confused not to worry I will explain and demonstrate.
Google defines provisional: arranged or existing for the present, possibly to be changed later. Well, no maybes. In this cast it is being changed for sure.

I love any version of the basket weave and the Garter Stitch Checks is on the top of that list. What can I say, a few knits and purls has done it again. Super cool – super easy. Great for everybody, men, women and children. It is reversible so works for dishcloths, washcloths , scarves and blankets.

This is a VERY simple Triangle Shawl pattern that only appears to be complicated. I believe even a beginner can easily handle it. With so many uses it is definitely worth the try. To make things even nicer it’s a one day, one skein, one loom pattern completed in one piece with the option to customize with fringes, tassels, beads as I did or you can easily add some interesting charms.
