This is an easy loom knitting rib stitch pattern. It’s made up of just knits and purls for a nice pair of Fingerless Gloves. Great for both men and women. Includes text and video tutorial for us visual learners.

I wanted to limit this design to one size fits all for adults which is why I choice the double rib stitch. The fabric stays snug for small hands and stretches well for those bigger man hands. CinDwood Looms What’s Good and What’s Not

I want to give you the information necessary to know if a CinDWood Looms are right for you. There are some GREAT things about this line of knitting loom and some that you may not like. I will break it down in this terms; construction and materials, availability, options (like size and type), price, customer service, the negative issues and when is it not a good idea to buy a CinDWood Looms.

It was difficult for me to decide if to start with what is best or what is wrong because my aim is that you stay with me til the end on this review because it’s only fair to me and to CinDwood Crafts that you hear me out completely. So, if you don’t want to read there is always the video you can quickly watch. But even there I hope you will watch it from beginning to the end.

Modified Basic Bind Off for Loom Knit Edges

The basic bind-off just wasn’t working for me. I kept getting one end that was wider and the other tighter regardless of the type of loom or yarn. It looked odd and I needed to find a better solution to a technique that was pretty good and seemed to work for other people but not me. I had seen someone add a crochet single stitch and I tried that. It was alright but left a tiny hole. I was frustrated. I played around and changed just one thing. The modified basic bind off did the trick.

I just added an extra step every 2-3 stitches depending on the tension and done. Once I tighten my loose ends from my cast-on I ended up with clean edges, squared points and identical widths on both ends I was one happy Loomy.

I recently saw the cutest Baby Sweater Set on Loomaholics Google+ page which unfortunately will be shutting down soon. So I wanted to give this really nice pattern another home.

It was designed by Tamsin Stratford and when I first saw it I had two quick thoughts, what a cool name and what and adorable baby outfit. Well under the picture were the instructions for making this cuteness and the generous Ms. Tamsin agreed to let me share it with my readers.

Below you will find the pattern just as it was written by Tamsin I did add spaces and put some of the words in bold just to make it easier on the eyes. The size is for a 6 month old but you can adjust the pattern and change the loom size for a bigger or smaller version.

Double Basket Stitch Pattern for the Knitting Loom

This rich and interesting stitch is a mix between a rib and a basket weave stitch. Below is the FREE pattern for the Flat versions and a step by step video tutorial.

I have to admit that translating it was no fun but once it was done I was tickled pink with joy. I do want to give you a heads up although this design is made up of only knits and purls it can easily get confusing so it’s best to try it only if you are at a minimum an advanced beginner loom knitter or you’re really bold and focused. Pen and paper or stitch counter is highly recommended.

Another warning, it requires a lot of stitches and a lot of rows. You will need 18 stitches across and 20 rows to get the complete pattern and that doesn’t include the edges if you plan to knit the Flat version. A small 4×4 inch square will take you 20 stitches and 60 rows. Can you imagine a scarf. But it would surely be BEAUTIFUL !
