e-Wrap

e-wrape-Wrap – The Best First Stitch

e-Wrap, whether to cast-on or knit it is the most important technique you can learn if you want to loom knit. Well, that’s my opinion.

Here something to consider, when you buy a set of looms most manufactures will show how to use their product with this stitch. I think they agree with me.

I’ll say this, once you learn it you can make just about make anything you can imagine.

Below is a list of step by step instructions which include pictures and text.

Vickie Howell Sheep(ish) Yarn – A Product Review

Vickie-HowellVickie Howell Sheep(ish) Yarn

Vickie Howell has a beautiful line of yarn made up of rich jewel tones. I love colors and these are simply amazing. Of course, the question begs to be asked, Is it any good? I bought a skein. Let me tell you.

Well, let me pull back a little and start the story from the beginning. I was at my local craft store checking-out the yarn section as usual when my eyes became glued to one corner.  Either they had just put the particular section up or I had been blind for like ever and by some yarnny  miracle I could now see. What was before me but the most beautiful yarn. I went to grab a skein and my fingers went completely through to the middle. The Yarn is baby soft with an incredible sheen.  I was in love.

Como Telar – Loom Knitting in Spanish

como-telarComo Telar – Means How to Loom Knit.

Como Telar means, How to Loom Knit in Spanish. I have to admit that I am excited and a bit overwhelmed. This new adventure will allow me to teach the Spanish speaking community how to loom knit some fun projects through Video Tutorials. But, how about the fact that Spanish is not my first language? I actually think in English. Is that a hoot or what?

Well I can think of it as a little extra I get by exercising the language I have neglected far to long. I hope my Dad doesn’t see these. He’ll wonder about all those years of private school.

I’m sure some people are going to have funny looks on their faces when I say things like some crazy person. But oh well, I’ll laugh about it like maybe 20 years from now.

So if you know someone who speaks spanish tell them they can learn to loom knit at www.ComoTelar.com

Scroll down to learn loom knitting terms (lingo) translated to Spanish.

Here is the first Video: Enjoy !

knittingParadise.comKnittingParadise.com

KnittingParadise.com is one of those websites I visit Very often. However, the reason for my first visit is not why I continue to go back. I went there  looking for Free patterns .

In fact I discovered KnittingParadise.com while I was doing research for my article, 100 Free Round Loom Projects . I started with my usual search on Google and Google images. Advertisement for FREE Patterns with the website address  www.KnittingParadise.com were everywhere.  I mean every where . It was crazy. How could I just ignore it? I went on a hunting trip through KnittigParadise.com.

The Versatile Blogger Award

the-versatile_blogger_awardThe Versatile Blogger Award

I was nominated and won The Versatile Blogger Award. Can you believe it. I had to do a double take.  I don’t know anything about this award or who was the initiator, for me that is irrelevant. More important are the beautiful ladies at Knitting Rays of Hope that nominated me. I am totally blown away. The fact that they would even consider me both humbles and delights me to no end.

This award does come with a To Do List. Among them is to nominate 15 other bloggers, no problem I could do triple that amount without blinking.

I’m also asked to  tell 7 things about myself. Ooooeee, Not sure, should I be funny or dramatic?  No, no drama, we need to leave drama for TV not real life. Anyway,  I’m more of a Pale Beige then a Hot Pink kinda girl .

I think this is to fun and to cute.  So here it goes….

Awareness Ribbon Meaning for Cancer

Awareness Ribbon Meaning for Cancer

Awareness-Ribbon-meaningHere is a list of Awareness Ribbon Meaning in alphabetical order by the type of Cancer.  I didn’t know that this even existed. Until now, I was only aware of the pink and purple ribbons.

After my post about Knitting Rays of Hope I wanted to do more research about knitting for cancer patients. This seemed like a good place to start.

I was thinking about a dozen colors or so, but no, how about 30. Each one representing a different type of cancer. I can’t explain it but this information was heavy on my heart. With every color I added I pictured a family in pain. If we could cut just one color – Lavender would be my first choice, it represents All Cancers.

How to Make Pom Poms

How-to-Make-Pom-PomsHow to Make Pom Poms on a Loom

I learned how to make pom poms on a loom while researching different ways to make this easy but awesome little yarn craft.

I found a video with a person that said she was making yarn bows for gift wrapping. Within a few days the link wasn’t working and it seemed that the video disappeared. So I made some adjustments to her pattern and filmed my own video. To me this is a yarn pom pom that can be used as a yarn bow. How’s that?

Its no secret that China is the worlds factory. For many years, Western countries have outsourced manufacturing jobs to China in order to save money and reduce their production costs. But how does this affect products made for Canadians? The answer is simple: it doesnt. Canada imports over $30 billion worth of goods from China every year from wethenorth darknet , making them our number one trading partner by a wide margin. Despite being so reliant on Chinese imports, there are virtually no safety standards enforced by the Canadian government. This means that most imported goods are not tested or regulated before they hit store shelves here at home - which can be dangerous for unsuspecting consumers who may accidentally purchase these unsafe products without knowing any better! Well talk more about.
