Loom Knit Yoda Hat and Cowl

Yoda Hat and Cowl with a Round Loom

Yoda Hat and Cowl

Last year one of my readers asked me if I had  a pattern for a Yoda Hat. Well Debbie Ward, I know you think I forgot. I didn’t. Here is the FREE pattern for you and all my readers with a step by step video tutorial for the hat and a free easy pattern for the matching v-neck cowl.

The FREE Patterns

I did my best to try and stay authentic to the actual Yoda and still make it easy enough for a beginner. I really like the cowl which I felt added a nice touch to the set-up. I have not made a video for the cowl only because I think the pattern is easy enough. But if you guys really want a video, well say it now or forever hold your peace.

Please remember that there are no pattern testers at home with me. Should you have any issues with this pattern. Please feel free to comment or ask questions in the section at the bottom of this post.

For a baby hat, with the ears how large would you start the ears? Would you loom and reduce the same way? I’m a true beginner, but I’ve made a hat following your baby hat with brim tutorial (which was awesome btw!!) in true yoda colors and I want to add the yoda ears.

I would probably cast on 6 – also reduce the number of rows by 1 or 2 depending on the size of the baby
