Double e-Wrap Knit Stitch on a Loom Pattern and Video
This version of the e-Wrap is the lace stitch from heaven. The double e-wrap knit stitch is super easy to do and the result is beautiful. My plan is to use if for a nice breezy triangle shawl. Perfect for the spring and summer season. This stitch has many possibilities from a light vest to a quick market bag.
Below are the instructions for the Double e-Wrap Knit Stitch and a quick 4 minute video to show you step by step how to do the stitch and a little extra information that will come in handy.
Double e-Wrap Knit Stitch 4 Step Instructions
.
- Wrap the peg
- Knit-off
- Wrap the same peg
- Knit-off
- Go to the next peg
- Repeat instructions 1-4
Notes:
Each peg is knitted individually. Unlike the regular e-Wrap knit where all the pegs are wrapped twice and then you start to knit-off.
The size of the loom will make the stitch more or less lacey. If you look at the two swatches in the picture you will note that the one done on the Yellow Knifty Knitter is a larger and more open stitch then the one done on the CinDwood loom.
If you are not familiar with the different versions of the Knit Stitch here is a post with a video that explains each version: Click HERE

Hello Denise and thank you for the helpful videos! I am making a scarf out of the double-e wrap stitch and I know it will be beautiful! Do you have a video to help me understand how to cast off when I get to the end? I’m having trouble finding one. Thanks again!
This pattern is VERY similar and should help: Click HERE
Hi I want to use this stitch to make an infinity scarf on the 41 peg yellow loom. I was wondering how to cast off for this stitch to finish a project. Thanks!
I would use the eWrap cast on, tighten my loose loops , sew the 2 side together. 🙂
is this pattern available? I see many photos… just not the Knifty Knitter pattern

Good Evening….
I started a new project about…..two weeks ago I think. Decided to do a small throw with 8x8inch flat panels… thanks for that WONDERFUL tutorial btw! I decided to do that as practice…and just did a small swatch of this stitch to see how it looked and i LOVE it. I did do it on a long loom…. and i did a flat stitch on the ends….i guess i had the panel pattern in my head … but turned out super cute. This would make a great light baby blanket I think! Saw someone do a blanket on the largest round loom….sorry rambling. Just wanted to say thanks. LOVE LOVE this stitch! <3
Hey Toni, I love this stitch too. Soooooooo easy to do. BTY, I love rambling and Thanks for the Thanks – very much appreciated !
Anxiously waiting for that shawl pattern!
Hi Denise. Can’t wait to get the pattern for the shawl using the double e-wrap stitch. I was wondering, do you make some kind of band (like alternating rows of knit with rows of purl in the beginning) to keep the piece from curling on the edges? I have an idea for something I’d like to make, and any hints as to how to keep the edge from curling would be appreciated.
Hi Joan, as you can see from the pictures – no curling. But per-say this swatch has no edges, It’s is just a row of knits and then straight to the stitch. Soooooo your projects edging will determine if you will have to contend with curling.
Hi, Denise- I like your idea of a shawl in this stitch. Do you have a pattern that you can share? I enjoy your tutorials- very helpful to this beginner!
I’m working on it right now – hope to have it by the weekend. Pattern and Video
How do you cast on and off with this stitch?
Never mind….I read the instructions after watching. My apologies. 🙂
I really enoy all of your tutorials. I am a beginner and have learned so much from your vidieos and have actually made quite a few hats using the loom. Thank you so much and please keep them coming.
